Accompanied by the International Cooperation Department, China Council for Promotion of Nationalities Trade, a delegation of Aceh province, Indonesia visited Souch China Botanical Garden (SCBG) on May 1. The delegation was composed of over 10 people, including Mr. Said Mustafa, Aceh Governor's Assistant for Economic and Development, Mr. Anwar Muhammad, chairman of Aceh Investment and Promotion Board, Mr. Firmandez, chairman of Aceh Chambers of Commerce. Director of SCBG Prof. HUANG Hongwen, director's assistant Prof. XIA Hanping, and pertinent staff members of SCBG warmly received the delegation and conducted exchanges each other.

In the conversazione, Prof. Huang briefly introduced the history and development of SCBG, main research fields and advantages, international cooperation and exchange, tour, open and education of postgraduates, especially those students from abroad. Mr. Said Mustafa thanked SCBG for the arduous reception to them. He also introduced the dominant industries of Aceh province, quality wild resources and forestry, and favorable policies for international cooperation. Then the both sides held a discussion about protection of forestry resources, and development and utilization for wild bio-resources, especially for medicinal plants, fruits, flowers and other pertinent crops. A preliminary cooperation intention was formed between both sides after discussion.

The delegation also visited the SCBG's Conservatories and gave a high appraisal of its landscape, horticultural layout, biodiversity, and species conservation.
