Research Group for Restoration Ecology focuses on the mechanism study on vegetation and soil restoration of degraded hilly lands in order to set up good restoration models for degraded ecosystems, and the relationship between soil biodiversity and ecosystem health in order to select bio-indicators of ecosystem health.
Ongoing projects include: mechanism study and model development on vegetation and soil restoration of degraded hilly lands in south China; the effects of functional groups of soil animals on soil C, N dynamics and rhizosphere processes. Research Group of Restoration Ecology runs “Heshan National Field Research Station of Forest Ecosystem” and “Heshan Hilly land Interdisciplinary Experimental Station”.
